    Job Description

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Facilities Technology TPM to join our Client's team.

    Position Summary

The Facilities Technology Technical Program Manager (TPM) leads the strategy, roadmap, governance, and cross-functional delivery of connected building technologies across the organization. The portfolio includes CCTV and video surveillance, BMS and building automation, electronic access control, fire/life-safety integrations, and the network and cybersecurity dependencies that support these systems.

This role operates at a program and architecture-governance level. It aligns Facilities, Security, IT, EHS, Procurement, site teams, and vendors; converts business needs into coordinated technical programs; manages risks and dependencies; and establishes clear ownership. The TPM is not responsible for routine preventive maintenance or acting as the day-to-day maintenance provider.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategy, Roadmap and Governance

    ·      Own the multi-year facilities technology roadmap, investment priorities, standards, and lifecycle strategy across sites.

    ·      Establish governance for CCTV, BMS, access control, fire/life-safety integrations, connected facilities systems, and supporting network services.

    ·      Define decision rights, ownership boundaries, intake processes, design-review gates, change controls, and escalation paths.

    ·      Develop program charters, objectives, success measures, sequencing, dependencies, assumptions, and executive decision materials.

    ·      Drive platform rationalization and reduce fragmented, obsolete, unsupported, or duplicative technologies.

    Technical Program Leadership

    ·      Translate facilities, security, safety, compliance, and operational needs into coordinated technical workstreams and outcome-based requirements.

    ·      Lead programs from discovery and planning through design, procurement, implementation, commissioning, acceptance, and operational transition.

    ·      Coordinate architects, engineers, IT teams, cybersecurity specialists, site leaders, vendors, and system integrators.

    ·      Manage scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, changes, budgets, resource needs, and executive reporting.

    ·      Ensure technical deliverables, training, support models, documentation, and ownership are complete before program closure.

    Facilities and IT Integration

    ·      Maintain sufficient network knowledge to challenge designs and coordinate requirements.

    ·      Ensure facilities vendors provide complete facilities diagrams, device inventories, port and protocol matrices, data flows, hosting requirements, and cybersecurity documentation.

    ·      Coordinate with IT on segmentation, identity, certificates, logging, vulnerability management, backups, cloud services, integrations, and incident-response readiness.

    ·      Drive architecture reviews that clarify which components are owned by Facilities, Security, IT, property management, and external vendors.

    ·      Escalate cross-domain technical risks and unresolved design decisions with clear options, impacts, owners, and recommendations.

    Vendor and Commercial Governance

    ·      Develop sourcing strategies, scopes of work, RFP requirements, evaluation criteria, service levels, acceptance criteria, and support-model expectations.

    ·      Assess vendors for technical capability, interoperability, cybersecurity, scalability, licensing, supportability, financial value, and roadmap alignment.

    ·      Establish performance reviews, issue escalation, documentation standards, warranty obligations, and corrective-action governance.

    ·      Coordinate Procurement, Legal, Finance, IT, Security, and Facilities stakeholders during selection, contracting, and renewal decisions.

    ·      Track portfolio costs, forecasts, benefits, risks, and vendor concentration or end-of-life exposure.

    Risk, Compliance and Operational Readiness

    ·      Maintain program-level risk registers covering life safety, cybersecurity, privacy, resilience, compliance, schedule, budget, and vendor dependencies.

    ·      Ensure regulated and life-safety decisions are reviewed by appropriately licensed professionals and authorities having jurisdiction.

    ·      Confirm commissioning, testing, acceptance, training, documentation, support ownership, and incident procedures before production turnover.

    ·      Facilitate post-implementation reviews and convert lessons learned into updated standards and governance.

    Role Boundaries

    ·      The TPM owns program outcomes, alignment, governance, dependencies, risks, decisions, communications, and delivery coordination.

    ·      Facilities engineers, architects, and vendors own detailed engineering, field implementation, system configuration, maintenance execution, and technical remediation.

    ·      IT owns enterprise network operations, cybersecurity governance, identity, and IT-managed hosting or cloud platforms.

    ·      The TPM does not perform routine preventive maintenance or replace licensed engineers, fire/life-safety professionals, network engineers, or system administrators.

    Required Qualifications

    ·      Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, facilities, construction technology, information technology, business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

    ·      Seven or more years of experience leading complex technical programs involving facilities, physical security, operational technology, networks, or enterprise infrastructure.

    ·      Demonstrated experience coordinating CCTV, BMS/BAS, access control, fire/life-safety, low-voltage, or connected-building programs.

    ·      High-level working knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, systems architecture, integrations, cloud/hosting models, and operational support.

    ·      Experience managing multi-vendor programs, budgets, contracts, risks, dependencies, and executive stakeholders.

    ·      Ability to convert ambiguous needs into structured requirements, roadmaps, decision frameworks, and measurable outcomes.

    ·      Strong executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    ·      Experience leading multi-site or global facilities technology portfolios.

    ·      PMP, PgMP, Agile, CFM, engineering, security, networking, or related professional certification.

    ·      Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, APIs, VMS, enterprise access control, building automation, and operational-technology cybersecurity.

    ·      Experience with capital planning, sourcing, vendor rationalization, lifecycle governance, and post-acquisition integration.

    Measures of Success

    ·      Facilities technology programs deliver agreed outcomes with clear ownership, controlled risk, and complete operational handoffs.

    ·      Facilities and IT responsibilities are understood, documented, and consistently followed.

    ·      Vendor performance, platform standardization, cost transparency, and roadmap execution improve across the portfolio.

    ·      Network and cybersecurity requirements are identified early, reducing late-stage redesign, escalations, and IT dependency.

    ·      Leadership receives timely, decision-ready reporting on progress, investment, risk, and business impact.

    Security Clearance Required: N/A
