Responsibilities:
Tetra Tech is an industry leader in Asset Management Services. Tetra Tech executes facility and infrastructure condition assessments (FCAs) for government and commercial clients. An FCA is an asset inspection and engineering analysis of maintenance history, failure trends, root-cause conditions, system deficiencies, and repair or replacement requirements used to establish the physical, civil/structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, utility, and infrastructure condition of an asset. Clients use FCA data as a planning tool for short and long-term budget requests. Tetra Tech is seeking a qualified technical QC analyst who can do more than process data; the successful candidate will analyze field-collected assessment records, backcheck observations against photographs and narratives, identify inconsistent or unsupported findings, validate deficiency logic, and support defensible project deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
o Qualified candidates must have practical technical experience in engineering, construction, facility assessment, building systems and their components, utilities, infrastructure, environmental, civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, engineering technology, construction management, or a related technical field. Candidates must be advanced users of Microsoft (MS) Office applications running on MS Windows workstations. More highly qualified candidates will demonstrate the ability to use Excel formulas and macros, Access development, SQL queries, VBA scripting, Python or similar tools to analyze data, automate workflows, and improve QC processes.
o High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred.
o Candidates must demonstrate consistent attention to detail, technical curiosity, and the ability to apply judgment when reviewing field-collected data and the products made from it. The role requires the ability to identify incomplete records, unsupported deficiency narratives, missing or mismatched photographs, questionable quantities, duplicate assets, incorrect system assignments and findings that do not align with observed building conditions. Candidates must proactively work as part of a multi-disciplinary team located across many offices and time zones and must communicate clearly in speech and writing.
o Limited travel within CONUS will be required for the successful applicant to gain understanding of project data and business rules, building systems, and the field processes used to collect assessment information. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required to gain access to the government installations where most field work is conducted.
o Knowledge of tools such as BUILDER SMS, BRED, ESRI GIS applications, Python, MS PowerShell, MS SQL Server, AutoDesk AutoCAD, MS Access, Excel Power Query, Power BI, and common programming languages under MS Visual Studio is highly valued. Candidates who can write or modify scripts, queries, or automated checks to automate workflows and identify data quality issues are strongly preferred.
o Knowledge of Department of Defense, NASA, USACE, or other federal real property, facility management, asset management, facility condition assessment, and related topics is valued. Candidates with prior experience reviewing FCA data, construction documents, building system inventories, or repair/replacement recommendations are strongly preferred.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
Background Check: If this position requires a CAC card, CUI Enclave Access and/or a Security Clearance, a background check will be completed.
Physical Demands: The candidate is expected to occasionally participate in field activities. This involves walking or standing for most of the workday. Field teams may walk from 5 to 10 miles a day, carrying tools such as clipboards, small cameras, tablet computers and/or paper drawings. Candidates must also be able to climb ladders and to access flat roofs where safe access is provided.
Work Environment: When not traveling to sites on data collection trips (see above), the candidate will work in an office environment and occasionally from home. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Travel may require working outdoors for brief periods where a variety of weather conditions can occur.
Language & Communication Skills: Candidates are expected to possess and use clear verbal and writing skills to describe topics, express needs and provide instructions and clarification to team members.
Other Skills: Computer skills are mandatory, but this position is not primarily a data-entry role. Extensive experience with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access is required. Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and data validation fundamentals is required or must be developed with the guidance of the QC Manager. Candidates with experience writing scripts, building SQL queries, developing QC checks, using BUILDER/BRED, and applying practical engineering or construction knowledge to validate field-collected facility data and deliverables produced from it are strongly preferred.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including, but not limited to geographic location, qualifications, licensures, certifications, experience, and other skills relevant to the needs of the business.
