The Facility Condition Inspector conducts assessments of community college buildings to evaluate their condition and lifecycle needs, supporting state requirements using tools like FICAS and FCI.
He/she inspects new and existing facilities, identifies deficiencies, develops cost estimates, and documents findings through reports and assessments.
Minimum qualifications include extensive knowledge of building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, structural, roof, envelope, interior), proficiency in reading plans and blueprints, and experience with assessment software such as MS Office, VFA Auditor, AutoCAD.
Strong communication skills and customer service are essential.
Additional considerations include experience in building maintenance, construction, and facility management, with a background in architecture, engineering, or construction management preferred. Certification in related fields is a plus.
