Join our team as a Facilities Custodian- also known as a Cleaning Specialist, Janitorial Specialist - and take pride in keeping our facility spotless, safe, and welcoming. In this hands-on role, you'll clean and maintain all areas of our facility - from restrooms and offices to lobbies and production floors - ensuring each space is stocked, organized, and running smoothly. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help create a polished, professional environment for employees and guests alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, conference rooms, and other assigned areas, ensuring they are fully stocked with necessary supplies
- Provide “white glove” service to maintain a polished and professional environment across all common and shared spaces
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles daily and transport waste to designated disposal areas
- Maintain cleanliness of building exteriors, especially around entrances, walkways, and employee gathering areas
- Complete routine cleaning and maintenance request tickets in a timely and thorough manner
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, restocking consumables, and completing minor repairs as needed
- Assist in preventative maintenance efforts and promptly report any facility issues, damages, or safety hazards to the Facility Engineer Manager
- Interact professionally with employees across all departments and respond to facility-related needs with a customer service-oriented approach
- Follow all company safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management to support the facility's overall cleanliness and functionality
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience performing routine cleaning and light maintenance in professional or multi-use facilities (e.g., office buildings, commercial spaces, or similar environments)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a janitorial, custodial, or building maintenance role
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices
- Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and buffers
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for long periods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Additional tasks assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, office, commercial building, or industrial facility
- Familiarity with safety data sheets (SDS) and OSHA safety protocols
- Strong customer service skills and experience interacting with employees in a professional setting
