PGS Worldwide is seeking a Facility Engineer in York, PA for a one year contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. The Facility Engineer will support the Facilities Capital plan and help safely execute facilities-related projects while prioritizing safety, quality, schedule, and cost. This role will manage low- to mid-level scope projects, subcontractors, purchasing activities, and facilities construction projects in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or technical discipline and four (4) years of related experience, or overall equivalent
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work well in a team environment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
Preferred Skills
Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment
Defense manufacturing environment experience
Experience with AutoCAD software
Experience with manufacturing database software such as Oracle
What You’ll Do
Serve as project engineer for low- to mid-level scope facilities projects
Specify requirements and write purchase requisitions for facility items, services, and projects
Manage disciplines of subcontracted construction projects, including demolition, electrical, mechanical, structural, carpentry, painting, floor coverings, and furniture
Manage subcontractors by reviewing requested work, writing work orders, inspecting work, and approving payments
Support subcontracted services including general construction, vehicle repair, rigging and millwright, and crane maintenance
Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems of low to moderate complexity
Support Safety & Environmental objectives, including area audits, issue resolution, risk reduction actions, and sustainability improvement projects
Complete projects within schedule and budget constraints and assist with annual Facilities budget development
Review bids, statements of work, and project authorizations
Coordinate and oversee facilities-related construction projects throughout all phases of the project cycle
Submit purchase order requisitions through Oracle-based software
Proactively maintain a safe work environment and promote a culture of safety, quality, schedule, and cost
Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager
