Job Description

Facility & Event Operations Frontline are responsible for supporting the safe, welcoming, and effective operation of the MU Student Recreation Complex. Individuals in this position will interact with members, guests, event clients, and department staff and must be friendly and professional in all interactions. Frontline provide service to our members at our equipment checkout station, assist with commercial laundry service, monitor activity spaces, and provide emergency aid when needed. Frontline also support event and reservation operations by reviewing and monitoring scheduled reservations, assist with event setup and teardown, maintain event spaces and equipment, serve as a resource for clients and guests, and communicate event needs to appropriate staff.

DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

  • Enforcing all MizzouRec guidelines and policies with members, guests, and Team Mizzou staff
  • Overseeing open recreation activities, facility spaces, and space reservations during scheduled hours
  • Utilizing facility management software to issue equipment and staff uniforms, complete tasks, track usage, and access reservation/event information.
  • Monitoring the facility and events to ensure cleanliness, safety, and appropriate use by all groups and users
  • Providing customer service and responding to needs from members, guests, event clients, and staff.
  • Conducting setup and teardown of event spaces and equipment according to event diagrams, reservation details, and established procedures.
  • Maintaining facility and event equipment by cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting equipment as needed and reporting equipment concerns.
  • Submitting work orders for equipment and facility issues as they arise
  • Controlling and running commercial laundry operations
  • Maintaining a clean environment for members in General and Rothwell Locker Rooms, as well as stocking product & towels
  • Responding to medical emergencies and other situations according to established emergency action plans and level of training.
  • Communicating with Team Mizzou Staff, Leads, and Coordinators
  • Attending all staff meetings and trainings
  • Adhering to all University, MizzouRec, Team Mizzou, and area specific guidelines
  • As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected in order to serve the customer and maintain the MizzouRec mission.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $15.40 Hourly - Biweekly payroll

Grade: GGS MKT

University Title: Student Assistant Craft and Services

Minimum Qualifications

  • University of Missouri student in good standing with the university
  • American Red Cross CPR/AED certification obtained within 60 days of start date (we will provide classes for staff members free of charge)

Selection is contingent upon successful results from an OCR/Title IX and Office of Student Accountability Services check and review by the office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service-related position.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work three or more semesters within the department
