Job Location: Onsite- Quincy, MA 02171
Job Duration: 5- months contract with extension or possible fulltime hire
Pay Range: $30 – $35/Hour on W2
Schedule: 9:30 am to 6:00pm - With 3-week On Call Rotation (provided a $20 a day stipend)
Job Description
The Facility Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the facility. This role ensures a clean, safe, and efficient working environment by assisting with general maintenance, space management, equipment oversight, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of handling multiple facility-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general facility maintenance, including minor repairs, cleaning, and organization.
- Assist in managing workspaces, conference rooms, and common areas for efficiency and cleanliness.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and supplies.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify and address issues.
- Support health and safety compliance by monitoring emergency systems and safety protocols.
- Assist with office moves, furniture setup, and workspace reconfiguration.
- Maintain inventory of facility supplies and reorder as necessary.
- Respond to facility-related service requests from employees.
- Ensure heating, cooling, and lighting systems are functioning properly.
- Support sustainability initiatives by managing waste reduction and energy efficiency efforts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, or a related role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, Carpentry, Fabrication, Painting & Plastering and electrical maintenance.
- Concrete repair and installation
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment or furniture as needed.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance procedures.
- Proficiency in using facility management software, Service zone or similar (preferred).
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in facility management is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar role.
Working Conditions
- May require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Work may involve indoor and outdoor tasks in varying conditions.
