Position Information

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. Responsible for

conducting on-site construction, alteration, or repair of building components and structures.

Responsible for coordinating and conducting interior building maintenance and repair.

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, operating various types of specialized tools common to the carpentry

trade; physical demolition and construction of partitions with wood and metal studs, sheetrock, including

hand tapping and finish texture and paint; construction and installation of wood and metal window and

door frames including finish work and treatments; installation of suspended ceiling systems, installation

of flooring, and the installation of locks, door closures, and other associated hardware. Performs

electrical repairs by replacing switches and outlets. Repairs finished cabinetry. Duplicates keys.

Remove, repair, and replace glass and screens. Install desks, workstations, counters, and shelves.

Repair wall and floor surfaces. Assists with other building trades such as HVAC,

plumbing, and electrical. Reads and complies with blue prints and specifications by use of building

codes and other standard practices. Participates in grounds maintenance and repair including lawn

care, snow removal, and sanding/deicing. Provides other support services and related duties that may

include moving and transporting office furnishings and supplies; setting up risers, staging, tables and

chairs; installing and removing window air conditioners; assisting in the delivery of mail/freight, etc.
