Description

Position performs general and skilled maintenance and troubleshooting of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, carpentry, masonry and facility electronics. Individual performs multiple tasks and routine facility maintenance. Provides logistics, planning and project oversight within the maintenance department and assists all disciplines with project planning, pricing and procurement of material and equipment. Event setup in various KSA facilities, and supervise part-time hourly employees to complete projects, setup and service events. Perform daily inspection of interior and exterior of KSA facilities and reporting any hazardous conditions to Director of Facilities.

About This Role

K-State Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a FACILITY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, which is a full-time, hourly, benefits-eligible, local agency position.

An example of job responsibilities includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Inspect sites regularly to identify and repair problems and provide necessary maintenance
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
  • Hire and train part-time/student workers
  • Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, prepare, and refurbish facilities throughout the year as needed
  • Work varied days and hours as needed for events outside of normal scheduled hours
  • Coordinate and oversee the setup and tear-down of events at KSA facilities
  • Maintain grounds around building structures
  • Perform duties associated with inclement weather which requires being outside in adverse weather conditions of all kinds/types

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Education or GED
  • Five (5) years of experience in the mechanical and/or building trades -or- two years of vocational education in mechanical and/or building trades, plus three years of experience

    OTHER:
    --Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
    --Must be able to transport 100 pounds
    --Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
    --Must be able to work at heights in excess of 65 feet
    --Must have a valid driver's license at all times
    --Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of vocational education in mechanical and/or building trades, and general maintenance experience
  • Two years of building trades experience with plumbing, interior and exterior painting, building mechanical systems, standard electrical and high voltage and HVAC systems. College degree may be substituted for experience
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of all types of maintenance equpment and lawn equipment
  • Experience supervising employees
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
