JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the facility maintenance supervisor directs, monitors, and is responsible for advanced skilled licensed techs and non-skilled non-licensed techs that engage in repair, maintenance, construction duties, and custodial operations for the Parks and Recreation Department, which includes recreation centers, parks, and pools; ability to oversee construction contracts, meet with contractors, schedule staff, and inspect such work.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plan, direct, and monitor complex infrastructure systems, including parks, facilities, pools, and lake systems
Do long and short-range planning and implementing long range preventative and predictive maintenance toimprove assetlifethroughimproved estimatingrequirements andprocuringappropriate tools, materials, supplies, and resources for work projects and directing above tasks through subordinate support personnel.
Develop, implement, review,andinspectplansforconstructionofnewparks,pools,andfacilities, as wellas, renovation of existing facilities, to provide technical assistance and ensure long range maintenance feasibility and usability.
Prepareandsupervisethepreparation ofmaintenanceandoperationsreports,proposals,contracts, specifications, records, safety logs, etc., which also includes departmental payroll, annual budget, and policies and procedures for the department and unit.
Manage contract administration, which includes selecting and hiring contractors and consultants while monitoring work progress and ensuring compliance with allocated budgets, and city, state, and federal regulations.
Plan, schedule, monitor, and provide feedback to multiple trades' staff through a systematic process that collects, analyzes, and improves service delivery.
Thorough knowledge of the common practices, requirements, inspections, and state laws required to monitor and properly maintain all playground and aquatic facilities.

Overseeabudgetofapproximatelyover$1milliondollarsingeneral funds, capitalimprovementprojects, and capital maintenance projects
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledgeofconstruction,maintenance,andoperationsofroads,bridges,lightingsystems,facilities, pools, lakes, trails, and other infrastructure items.
Knowledgeofcurrentrules,regulationsandcodesaffectingelectrical,plumbingandpools.
Knowledgeofparks,facilities,andrelatedconstructionpractices.
Knowledgeofprocurementproceduresatstate,federal,andlocalgovernmentlevels.
Skillinanalyzingandevaluatingpolicies,procedures, services,andfacilitiesinordertodevelop recommendations for improvements.

Skillincommunicationwithothercityemployeesandofficialsbybothoralandwrittenmeans.Skillinmediation and customer service.

Qualifying Education and Experience:
Associate'sdegreeinBusinessAdministration,Park Administration,Mechanical Systems,Electrical Engineering, orrelatedfield,plus2 yearssupervisoryexperience, oranyequivalent combination ofeducation and/or experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Possessionoforabilitytoobtainwithinsixmonthsofemployment,CertifiedPlaygroundSafetyInspector(CPSI).
PossessionofavalidTXDriverOperatorsLicense,ClassC.
