Title: Facility & Maintenance Technician
Location: Burlington, NC
Shift: PT 20hours/week
Pay: $30/hour
Maintain building and grounds at desired level. Monitor heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and electrical and plumbing systems to assure optimum efficiency. Assure facilities are properly prepared for all special events. Maintain proper inventory of building/grounds supplies and equipment.
Job Duties:
1. Maintain building systems in proper working condition by making regular checks and minor repairs to heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems. Replace all filters on scheduled basis.
2. Regularly inspect and maintain emergency exits, gutters and downspouts.
3. Maintain adequate inventory of building and ground supplies to keep all building systems functioning properly.
4. Oversee outside contractors/subcontractors who are hired to make repairs/refurbishment to building or grounds. Monitor contractor’s/subcontractors’ performance on job until job is completed.
5. Coordinate building inspections done by outside inspectors (e.g., fire, safety, boiler, etc.). Accompany all outside inspectors on inspections involving company property and grounds. Maintain detailed written logs of when inspections are scheduled and the outcome of such inspections.
6. Maintain keys to entry doors and vehicle. Keep written log of keys that are checked out. Assure that keys are checked in and out in an orderly fashion.
7. Assure that grounds and parking lots are tended at appropriate time intervals to ensure that grounds continually look neat.
8. Assist custodial staff by providing guidance with respect to work tasks/projects as necessary. Provide hands-on physical assistance to custodial staff with respect to tasks/projects when necessary.
9. Assure that building conditions are adequate for planned events.
10. Perform maintenance/repair work affecting child development center in a timely fashion.
