Job Responsibilities:

- Perform a variety of duties to assist in the general repair of all equipment in the plant, replace or repair defective parts on equipment, and assist in machine installation and general building repairs.

- Work from maintenance request and/or verbal instructions of Supervisor, Maintenance "A" or Electrician, using knowledge of mechanical theory and applications and the ability to read drawings and follow detailed instructions.

- Perform or assist in installation and repairs of machine tools and equipment. Perform work employing carpentry, rough plumbing, masonry, repairs to piping, rough welding or burning. Perform or assist in furnace repair.

- Lubricate equipment and maintain fluid levels of equipment. Perform cleaning and painting duties as assigned.

- Perform or assist with loading and unloading large or heavy equipment or materials. Operate cranes, lift trucks and all other material handling equipment and commercial cleaning equipment, and hand and power tools. Erect scaffolding, work from ladders, and operate power lift equipment when necessary.

- Report any malfunctions, or damaged tools/equipment to supervisor promptly.

- Keep all work areas, tools and equipment clean and orderly.

- Follow all safety rules and use required safety gear.

- Instruct and assist helpers and others assigned to project.





Requirements:

-1 year of relevant experience

- Use of mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, handbooks, wiring diagrams and the use of precision measuring instruments. Equivalent to 1 year to 3 years applied trades training.
