As part of a small team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, constructing and activating Mechanical HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection other systems to support launch and manufacturing facility systems.This position is focused on mechanical facility development, construction, and activation.The Facilities Mechanical Systems Engineer II position will be located in Huntsville Alabama and will require periodic travel to Kent Washington, Alabama and Texas.Responsibilities:Develop mechanical systems requirements, performing flow down, and verificationManage mechanical design, analysis, and development of launch support facilitiesSupport mechanical systems configuration development and trade studiesOversee launch pad mechanical system construction and activation, procuring components and materials; and managing vendor/subcontractor performanceCreate mechanical systems drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams and other documentationPrepare and review calculations loads for Mechanical Systems including HVAC, compressed air systems, etc.Plan and conduct mechanical systems facility shakedown and activation tests, and reviewing dataCommunicate and apply mission assurance principles throughout the organizationMaintain and report on mechanical systems activity schedule, budget and technical statusCoach, mentor and technically assist other engineersIdentify opportunities for safety improvements and operational cost savingsExperience developing and managing preventive maintenance plans and proceduresKnowledge of systems engineering practices, manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality controlQualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical engineeringMinimum 5 years of experience with complex facility design, operations and maintenanceExperience leading and managing small- to medium-sized teams integrating multiple subsystems to meet a top level system requirement. Strong personnel management and mentoring skills.Recent facility development or management experience supporting mission critical operationsExperience with mechanical system design, sizing and specificationFamiliar with HVAC facility monitoring systemExperience in sub-contract management of suppliers including request for proposal, specification and statement of workStrong project management, budget management and team leadership skillsProject planning, schedule and cost estimationStrong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operationsDesired:Professional Engineering (PE) license, or eligibility to test for and obtain a PE license within 2 years.Experience with AutoCAD and REVITCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35 Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
