As a Facility Painter, you will help maintain the appearance, functionality, and safety of Switch facilities through commercial painting and surface maintenance. This role supports facility maintenance, renovation projects, and ongoing improvements across Switch campuses while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
You will work independently while collaborating with Construction, Facilities, and other internal teams to identify maintenance needs and complete painting projects that support a clean, professional, and operational environment.
Perform commercial painting and surface preparation for facility maintenance and improvement projects
Identify and respond to facility painting and maintenance needs across Switch campuses
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, patching, sanding, masking, and priming prior to painting
Maintain paint, tools, equipment, and supply inventory to support ongoing work
Ensure all completed work meets Switch quality standards and maintains a clean, professional appearance
Perform quality inspections on completed work and resolve deficiencies as needed
Follow Switch policies and procedures while working in common areas and occupied spaces
Safely operate ladders, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other equipment required to perform assigned work
Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout each project
Communicate project status and maintenance needs with supervisors and internal stakeholders
Support additional facility maintenance activities as assigned

Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of commercial painting or related construction experience
Experience with commercial painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation
Experience using painting tools, preparation equipment, and related hand and power tools
Understanding of paint products, coatings, and chemical handling requirements
Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, email, and internal communication tools
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid state-issued driver's license
Reliable transportation to and from the work site
Preferred
Experience working in commercial facilities or mission-critical environments
Skilled trade training or related certifications
Experience supporting facility renovation or maintenance projects
Ability to work extended hours during peak maintenance periods
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions
Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, and lifting or moving materials up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required
This position may require additional background checks and drug screenings in support of customer-specific deployments
