Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for assisting with the rental of facility space for the purpose of social gatherings, parties, etc. within the Center of Recreational Excellence (CORE) and is responsible for providing exceptional customer experience. This position will market and provide information about the many rental opportunities provided by the CORE, in addition to providing assistance in securing rental reservations to all parties who call or come in inquiring about rentable space.

Essential Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provides efficient and courteous customer service to all individuals.
  • Shows and explains all of the rentable spaces within the facility, to include all of the various options available to the customers based on the type of event and the specific space they choose to rent.
  • Assists the customer in arranging the details of their event, while maintaining the requirements and policies of the CORE, documenting in writing and that staff is aware of the requirements and needs of each event.
  • Answers calls and returns messages promptly.
  • Has knowledge of all activities within the CORE, not just the facility rentals.
  • Ensures all required documentation, deposits, etc. are completed prior to event taking place.
  • Prepares the facility and the rentable spaces for events as scheduled and expected.
  • Ensures staff meets customer expectations and the CORE's commitment to facility rentals.

  • Adheres to assigned work schedule, which will include irregular hours, including days, evenings, weekends and will require flexible scheduled hours for days off.
  • Implements the CORE mission and philosophy.
  • Immediately reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors or abuse.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or high school equivalency (HSE) preferred. Customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Applicant must be dependable.
  • Applicant must be available to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to utilize basic computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships
  • Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to deal with people under stressful and demanding situations.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Bilingual preferred.

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid state issued driver's license preferred.
  • Ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid for adults and children certification within 30 days of hire.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Work under the general supervision of the Guest Services Coordinator, CORE Facility Director, and Recreation Director.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee will be required to assist in setting up and putting away tables, chairs, and other types of items used in the facility. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be required to be on their feet for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • The City of Hobbs will provide 80% to 90% Heath Insurance Coverage from Single to Family coverage.
  • Employees are eligible for 100% short-term disability coverage provided by the City of Hobbs.
  • Employer PERA contributions 14.8% for general, 28.775% for HPD, 30.9% for HFD.
  • CDL pay - $6,000 per year (if applicable).
  • PTO accruals start at 12 hours per month (144 hours per year) and progressively increase based on years of service to 20 hours per month (240 hours per year) at year 21.
  • Bilingual Pay - $1,500 dollar incentive per year upon completion of yearly proficiency test.
  • Education Incentive - ($1,000, $4,000, $6,000 dollars - Associates, Bachelors, Masters; degree must be relevant to position and above the current minimum requirements of the held position).
  • Longevity Pay - Begins at the completion of 10 years of service. Gradually increased.
  • Retention Incentive - $600 incentive yearly with years 1-9 of completed service
  • 13 Paid Holidays.
  • Bereavement Leave - 5 days per calendar year per personnel rules guidelines.
  • Military Leave - (120 hours per year for general, 183.75 per year for HPD, 360 hours per year for HFD).
