    Job Summary

    Under general supervision performs basic general technical tasks on:

    • electrical systems
    • fire safety systems
    • HVAC systems
    • mechanical and plumbing systems
    • architectural systems

    Architectural systems may include, but are not limited to:

    • interior and exterior doors (including fire and some doors)
    • ceiling systems
    • wall systems

    General tasks may include trouble-shooting minor issues on:

    • the pneumatic tube system
    • patient beds
    • nurse call systems
    • televisions

    General tasks also include shop cleanup and other general maintenance and upkeep. Works with a team and takes initiative. Helps maintain departmental compliance with governmental standards with documentation and with computerized maintenance management systems. Maintains a clean, neat and safe work environment.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma required
    • Vocational / Technical in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Maintenance preferred

    Work Experience

    • Entry Level Electrical repair, HVAC, and/or Mechanical maintenance, installation or contracting (Required)
    • 1 year Healthcare or hospital facility maintenance setting (Preferred)

    FACILITY TECHNICIAN GENERAL SKILLS:

    Additional Duties

    • Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
    • Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
    • Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
    • Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
    • Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
    • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
    • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
    • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
