Job Summary:
This position allows entry level technicians the opportunity to perform routine maintenance and simple
repairs to a variety of process, delivery and facility equipment. The Tech Maintenance – facilities grade C
will work under the guidance and direction of a higher-grade Tech Maintenance – Facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
• Performs routine maintenance and simple repairs on process, delivery and facility equipment.
Technician must be able to apply electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical
expertise and troubleshooting aptitude to maximize equipment uptime.
• Uses a wide variety of test equipment and troubleshooting tools including infrared cameras,
ultrasonic detection, control software, dial indicators, voltmeters, ammeters and oscilloscopes in
equipment diagnosis and repair.
• Becomes familiar with, and adheres to, Process/equipment operation and adjustment procedures,
lubrication and alignment requirements and preventative maintenance instructions. Adjusts,
calibrates and verifies operational performance of equipment and their integration with other
systems.
• Assists in developing and performing preventative maintenance instructions including periodic
inspection, testing, and servicing of machines. Maintains documentation and service records as
required.
• Works with equipment manufacturers’ service personnel during installation, alignment, calibration,
repair or modification of machines.
• Responsible for quality of own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.
Education:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification. Also
requires technical training certificate in mechanical/electronics repair. This position requires a basic
understanding of electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic principles and their application to machine
tools and operations equipment. Individual must have some use of machine drawings, schematics, ladder
diagrams and machine diagnostic equipment.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of 6 months demonstrated hands on experience which utilized some of the following
systems from past work experiences or experiences outside of the educational setting. Systems such as
computer, electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical would qualify as applicable
experience.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable due to temperatures, dust, machinery related fluids and uncomfortable working
positions. Must not be afraid of heights up to 30 ft., and be able to work overhead and in confined spaces.
