Summary: Location: Lake Forest, IL Duration: 6 Months Work Mode: Onsite Responsibilities: Operate and maintain all assigned machinery and equipment in good running order. Ensure the safe, economical operation of the plant. Carry out management orders in the operation of the building. Complete work orders as assigned and report progress and completion in the automated work order system. Ensure safety for employees, students, and visitors through procedure compliance, on-site inspection, and training. Attend training and seminars to enhance engineering knowledge. Identify energy conservation measures and collaborate with engineering staff for implementation. Participate in the ongoing review and revision of engineering procedures and practices. Perform other tasks related to the mission of the company, the work of the physical resources department, and the responsibilities of an engineer. Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. 2 years of experience managing facilities. Preferred Skills: Working knowledge or hands-on experience in maintenance, operation, and repair of steam boilers, electricity and electrical distribution systems, plumbing and piping systems, internal combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, generators, ice machines, air-conditioning units, chillers (centrifugal and screw type), cooling towers, air handling units, variable frequency drives, and building automation systems (pneumatic and direct digital control). Working knowledge of an automated work order system. Working knowledge of Building Automation Systems Siemens and Johnson Controls. Experience in ordering supplies, work order management systems, and proficiency in Word and Excel (ability to maintain complex spreadsheets). Ability to read and work off blueprints and schematics. Able to drive company-owned vehicles without restrictions.
