Facility Technician

What You’ll Do:

Position Summary:

The Facilities and Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safety and functionality of all buildings and grounds. This role involves performing a wide range of repair tasks, conducting routine preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Under the direction of Facilities management, the technician will address repair issues promptly and maintain a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

 

Key Performance Responsibilities:

• Conduct general and detailed maintenance tasks, including patching, painting, hardware repairs, and other repair/replacement work as required.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with Department of Health, OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies.
• Complete Health and Safety binder requirements, including daily and weekly sign-off logs.
• Conduct periodic facility-wide walk-throughs to document necessary repairs and maintain compliance with company standards.
• Assist with new equipment installations and facility upgrades as needed.
• Respond to and address repair requests from guests, staff, and patients in a timely manner.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and any issues to other shifts and collaborate with housekeeping and security to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform emergency repairs to prevent and resolve health and safety issues.
• Ensure all work is completed with minimal disruption to programming and staff.
• During inclement weather, ensure facility walkways, entrances, and grounds are clear and safely passable.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, and electrical components.
• Dedicate time each week to assist with general office work related to the work order system and ordering supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

Education, Experience, License Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience in facilities maintenance; three (3) years preferred.
• Valid driver's license in state of residency is required.
• Current Boilers License and Pool Operators License in the state where facilities are located, if required by state or local government.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment is essential.
• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and general building maintenance.
• Knowledge of the Department of Health, OSHA, Life Safety, CMS, and The Joint Commission requirements are preferred.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision, performing repetitive tasks while maintaining concentration.
• Proficiency in using basic hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to deal with routine problems involving several known variables and follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.

Compensation is $22.82-$31.95 per hour based on education and experience.
