The Green Bay Area Public School District is seeking applicants interested in joining our Facilities Team serving as a Facility Technician at Sullivan Elementary School. This is a full-time vacancy working Monday - Friday from 7am - 3:30pm. The purpose of this position is to provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all of our students, educators and stakeholders throughout the community. This position operates, maintains and services building systems to include plumbing, electrical and HVAC. The Facility Technician shall perform a variety of repairs, preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure the peak efficiency and longevity of custodial and mechanical equipment. The Facility Technician is responsible for the overall building safety, daily operation and cleanliness of the educational institution by making certain the campus is properly maintained, secure and conducive to learning.

Performs routine custodial work as necessary in order to maintain a neat and organized building including, but not limited to the following:
Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
Cleaning and polishing filing cabinets, bookshelves, lockers, handrails, furniture and all other office and schoolroom equipment.
Polishing brass and other metal work such as doorknobs, push plates, handrails, nameplates, kick plates, etc.
Emptying waste baskets, trash boxes, and other refuses containers and disposes of the waste
Sets up for school and after school activities for school sponsored or outside rental groups.
Moves chairs, decorations, materials and supplies as directed.
Maintains gym floors, tile, terrazzo, wood, carpet, and concrete floors and stairways that are routinely part of the school operations.
Performs seasonal work including, but not limited to, maintaining lawns and shrubbery, operating snow removal equipment, and other related motorized grounds care equipment, applying ice melt, and cleaning up litter daily. Snow and ice mitigation are top priorities.
Routinely walks building roof areas to clear debris from around roof drains.
Operates and maintains low-pressure boilers, air handling equipment, chillers, emergency generators, other mechanical equipment, and performs general maintenance of school buildings and grounds.
Operates and performs routine maintenance on chilled water-cooling systems, associated cooling towers, motor generators, filtration and chemical feed systems. Maintains a daily log of data on boilers and chilled water cooling systems. Files reports of data as required.
Operates automatic boilers, cleans out boiler flues and breaching. Maintains pumps and adjusts valves necessary to provide adequate heat and ventilation for the building.
Performs electrical work such as replacing switches, outlets and ballasts.
Performs plumbing work such as repairing faucets, repacking valves, and replacing flush valves.
Anchors, measures, and fastens material as requested.
Records operational data, compiles operational reports, maintains inventory of maintenance and custodial supplies, orders supplies as needed from storeroom list and keeps other necessary records.
Facility Technician shall be evaluated by the Facilities Managers on building cleanliness, ability to function as lead person of custodial staff, mechanical systems, operations and maintenance.
Performs various custodial and/or maintenance tasks on the buildings or grounds of other District schools as assigned.
Enters work orders for trades related work.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Work involves physical capability of completing heavy work necessary to accomplish defined tasks such as working in tunnels where movement is restricted, working from scaffolding (to approximately 30 feet), climbing and moving ladders, etc.
Work involves a variety of physical tasks that include occasional floor to waist lifting 50#, bilateral carrying 50#, pushing/pulling up to 50# force, lowered work in standing, kneeling, and balancing between uneven surfaces.
Work involves disruptions of daily schedule.
Work involves frequent deadlines under pressure.
Work requires flexibility in adjusting to continuously changing situations.
