Job Title: Factory Automation Engineer (PLC )
Location: Grovetown, GA -30813
Duration: 12 Months

1st Shift 6am-2:30pm with occasional overtime

Introduction

We are seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our team as a Factory Automation Engineer I specializing in Industrial Control Systems and Automation. This is a dynamic role that involves designing and updating electrical systems, leading engineering tasks, and supporting the integration of shop floor machines and equipment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Computer, etc.)
  • Skilled in PLC and computer programming, Structured Query Language (SQL), and the associated engineering tools
  • Knowledge of electrical design, codes, common practices, and engineering tools
  • Knowledge of MES/SCADA solutions (SAP-MES, AMES, JDAAT, Ignition, etc.) and shop floor device connectivity
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's industry
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: electrical, controls, computer, etc.
  • 3 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases
  • 2 or more years of experience in project management – moderate to large scale complex projects

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design/update electrical systems, prints, and programs for machines, shop floor tooling, and equipment including HMIs and PLCs
  • Create and maintain interfaces for communicating with shop-floor tools, PLC controls, SCADA, and MES systems
  • Lead and execute intermediate to complex professional controls engineering tasks
  • Respond to critical production down situations affecting manufacturing and maintenance activities
  • Support integration (installation and networking) of shop floor machines, equipment, and tooling into site MES and PLCs
