Job Description

Lipscomb University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Cinematic Arts. This role is a direct replacement for a recently vacated position and is integral to maintaining the department's commitment to excellence in film education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in Film Editing, Cinematography & Lighting, Film History, and Film Production.

Key Responsibitilites:

  • Teach 12 academic course hours per semester, including but not limited to Film Editing, Cinematography & Lighting, Film History, and Film Production related courses.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials to reflect current industry standards and practices.
  • Mentor and advise students on academic progress, career development, and capstone projects.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations at professional conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree (MFA or equivalent) in Film Production, Cinematic Arts, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in film editing and cinematography.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of film history and production practices.
  • Commitment to integrating Christian faith and practice with academic excellence.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
