Position Overview
This Faculty member provides lecture and clinical teaching in Health Sciences-Central Sterile Processing Technician. This is a full-time Faculty (FAC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade Colleges District Board of Trustees.
What you will be doing
Facilitates teaching/learning in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising.
Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives.
Participates in curriculum development and revision that stress innovation and multicultural emphasis.
Participates in departmental recruiting and retention activities.
Serves on committees.
Prepares and submits student data to Department Chairperson.
Teaches both day, evening and weekend classes as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
Associate degree in a Health Care related field; or Associate degree; or Certificate in Surgical Technology from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program at a regionally accredited institution; and Valid Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD); or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from International Association of Healthcare Centra Service Material Management (IAHCSMM); and three (3) years of full-time work experience as a Central Service Technician in a sterile processing department.
All degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Must be able to travel between campuses, clinical sites and off-campus offering sites.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Start date for this Faculty position is scheduled on or before beginning of Fall Semester, 2026.
Doctoral Stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
