Position Overview
The Faculty Development Specialist is a key member of the Faculty Success Office team and is expected to be a partner in providing career-track-relevant faculty development programming, support, and resource planning that supports UNT’s mission. The FDS works closely with the Vice Provost of Faculty Success and other faculty development unit leaders (LEEF, SEA, DRI, Student Success, Libraries) to assess faculty development needs and provide relevant programming. The FDS's primary focus is on leading the faculty career development and mentoring programs, managing the faculty awards and grants application portal, and assessing FS programs and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in academic discipline and 4 years of experience consulting with faculty engaging on students in learning experiences that incorporate authentic learning activities; or any equivalent combination of experience/education/training.

*Demonstrated experience working with evidence-based practices to develop career and rank-related faculty development initiatives.
*Demonstrated agility, discretion, and professionalism in communicating across different faculty and leadership positions (e.g., chairs, deans, vice presidents)
*Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and collaborate across units
*Be successful at self-directed tasks, including leading projects and initiatives
