Overview
Touro University invites applications for a full-time 12-month faculty position in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at our Long Island Campus. The primary responsibilities of this role include teaching, scholarship, professional service, student advisement, and participation in departmental and college wide committees. Join our collaborative, supportive faculty in preparing the DPTs of the future. Candidates with qualifications in all areas of physical therapy practice and teaching expertise will be considered. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teaching:
Delivering high-quality instruction to students in various physical therapy courses
Designing and developing course content that aligns with the program''s objectives and industry standards
Facilitating engaging and interactive learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and evidence-based practice
Evaluating student performance, providing constructive feedback, and assessing learning outcomes effectively
Maintaining currency by participating in workshops, conferences, and seminars to enhance teaching strategies and maintain professional credentials
Student Advising:
Advising students in each cohort throughout the academic year with regular meetings which may include mentoring students professionally, academically, and in scholarly pursuits as well as in preparation of goals prior to a clinical experience
Professional Service:
Serving on DPT departmental committees and university-wide committees, APTA and ACAPT professional service also encouraged
Scholarship:
Engaging in a sustained program of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications, and presentations
Leading and mentoring student groups in faculty-driven research projects
