Appointment Stream Research Instructor

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Pittsburgh School of

Pharmacy is seeking candidates for an appointment stream Research Instructor in the

Song Li lab. The candidate's research should focus on the development of tumor-targeted

nanomedicine platforms for cancer therapy and immunotherapy. The individual will be

responsible for the design, optimization, and biological evaluation of polymeric and

biomimetic nanocarriers for the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents, small-molecule

immune modulators, and nucleic acid therapeutics. The research will involve mechanistic

and translational studies aimed at improving tumor-selective drug delivery, modulating

the tumor immune microenvironment, enhancing antitumor immune responses, and

developing combination therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment. Candidates with

previous experience in nanomedicine, drug delivery, nucleic acid delivery, tumor

immunology, in vivo cancer models, and immune profiling are particularly encouraged to

apply. The successful applicant will enjoy a stimulating multidisciplinary research

environment as part of the lab's translational initiatives aimed at developing innovative

nanomedicine-based strategies for cancer treatment. This position is supported by NIH

grant R01CA295774.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering,

chemistry, materials science, or a related field, with expertise in drug delivery,

nanomedicine, and cancer therapy and have more than five years of research

experience in drug delivery, nanomedicine, pharmaceutical sciences, cancer

therapy, or a closely related field. Experience in biomaterials and cancer

immunotherapy is preferred. Applicants with first-author publications,

demonstrated experience in independent project development, and mentoring
