The University of Pittsburgh Department of Music seeks a part-time instructor to give private lessons in upright and/or electric bass. Instructor must demonstrate an ability to work with students at various skill levels and be fluent in orchestral, jazz, and folk idioms.

The instructor should introduce students to orchestral, chamber, band, and solo repertories covering a wide variety of genres and assist in preparation for public performances and juries.

Private lessons are credit-generating and fulfill music major/minor requirements as well as general education requirements.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in bass performance or equivalent professional experience; previous teaching experience.
