**Faculty - Lecturer - Social Work**   **Salary:** Depends on Qualifications   **Job Type:** FT Faculty   **Job Number:** FY2605735   **Closing:** 6/9/2026 11:59 PM Mountain   **Location:** Main Campus - Orem   **Division:** VP Academic Affairs   **Position Announcement**   The Master of Social Work (MSW) Program within the Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences at Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year, full-time Faculty Lecturer position. This temporary, non-tenure track role is designed to support instructional needs within the MSW program for the academic year. The successful candidate will primarily teach graduate-level courses in macro social work and contribute to student engagement within a collaborative, student-centered learning environment aligned with professional social work education. This position offers the opportunity to support graduate students' academic and professional development while working within a collegial program committed to quality teaching and practice-informed education.   **Summary of Responsibilities**   • Teach a full instructional load of 30 credit hours per academic year (15 credits per semester; 5/5 load). Teach MSW and BSW courses, which may include macro practice, policy, research, HBSE, Introduction to Social Work, or related content areas based on program needs. Prepare and deliver course content using evidence-based, student-focused instructional methods. Teach courses in face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats, as assigned • Develop syllabi with measurable learning objectives aligned with MSW and/or BSW program outcomes and university standards. Assess student learning using appropriate evaluation methods and provide timely feedback   • Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to graduate students. Communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff.   • Participate in required MSW program meetings and department meetings. Utah Valley University was established in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School (CUVS) with the primary function of providing war production training. CUVS was part of the Provo School District located in south Provo. The institution received a state appropriation in March 1945 of $50,000 to operate for the 1945-1947 biennium. In 1947, the school received funding as a permanent state institution. A new site for the school was acquired on University Avenue in Provo in 1948; in the 1952, the state appropriated funding for the first construction on that site. As enrollments grew, the state acquired over 185 acres in southwest Orem and the first building was completed in 1977. Today, the University’s facilities consist of a combined total of 412 acres with 50 buildings with campuses in Orem, Provo, and Heber City and property in Vineyard and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
