Summary
Faculty members are responsible for providing students with a rich, relevant and engaging academic experience. The faculty role encompasses teaching, student outcomes assessment, curriculum development, student advising, and university service. Faculty continuously engage in professional development while maintaining current expertise in the applicable content area and developing students through effective and innovative teaching and learning practices.
The Counseling Programs, which include the M.S. in Addiction Counseling and M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, RI., invite applications for a new faculty position. Qualified applicants should be able to teach graduate level counseling courses in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Counseling across the eight CACREP core areas and provide support to the program. Content and skills-oriented courses taught may include teaching theoretical, clinical and practice-oriented classes in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Counseling programs.
Faculty candidates for the M.S. in Addiction Counseling and M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs should have a strong record of teaching, service to the profession, and an active research and scholarship profile. Scholarship is defined broadly and may include community-based research, critical, qualitative, mixed methods, or quantitative methodologies and grant writing. Ideal candidates must demonstrate quality teaching/scholarship/service, student engagement, a commitment to collaboration, and an alignment with the counseling profession.
