Kent State University is seeking an audiology faculty member in the Speech Pathology and Audiology program in the College of Public Health and Health Sciences.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

The candidate will be appointed to a non-tenure track position, a rank to be determined by experience. This candidate will be expected to be an experienced clinician with the skills to provide classroom instruction. They should demonstrate capacity to skillfully teach upper division Speech Pathology and Audiology (SPA) undergraduate courses and graduate clinical courses in our nationally ranked and regionally valued clinical Audiology graduate program in partnership with the University of Akron through the Northeast Ohio Audiology Consortium (NOAC). The candidate will ensure practices of the clinic and student practicum experiences meet standards for accreditation of graduate programs by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Council for Academic Accreditation and the standards for certification of individuals by ASHA's Council for Clinical Certification. The consortium and campus doctoral program will likely require some administrative duties to support students, admissions, and other functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Audiology .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • License to practice in Ohio as an Audiologist
  • Five years in Audiology and with duties and responsibilities to include the provision of direct client service, supervision, and administration.
  • The candidate must have good communication skills and the ability to work closely with others within the university community.

Preferred Qualifications - if applicable:

  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of clinical education.
  • Demonstrated experience with teaching coursework in the area of Audiology

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
