The School of Nursing at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais seeks a full-time faculty member for medical-surgical/fundamentals nursing instruction. A successful candidate will have approximately five years of medical-surgical experience and/or nursing education experience to provide didactic and clinical instruction in the undergraduate nursing program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Skillfully educate nursing students in a variety of courses, based on the needs of the undergraduate school of nursing.
Provide clinical instruction at various health care facilities.
Facilitate learning in the Virtual Learning Center through skill demonstrations and simulations.
Engage in various activities and committees within the school, along with participation in university endeavors.
Integrate faith and learning within classroom and clinical settings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
A lifestyle in agreement with the ONU Statement of Mission, Faith, and Lifestyle Covenant.
Approximately five years of experience in acute care Medical/Surgical.
Previous teaching experience in higher education is an important factor in the hiring process.
Additional Information
EDUCATION
Candidates with a doctorate in nursing or related field will be given preference; a master's degree in nursing is required. Applicants need to be willing to pursue a doctorate in nursing or a related field if not presently in evidence.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
9-month, full-time faculty position. Pleasant work environment on the main campus of ONU in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Travel required to clinical sites. Primary interaction with BSN Program Director. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Undergraduate students.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The salary ranges from $47,000 - $66,000 and is based on education, professional and teaching experience.
