Department Counseling and Human Services Job Purpose

The University of Scranton Department of Counseling and Human Services invites applications for an in-person, full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Faculty Specialist position starting in August 2027. This position would support teaching across two programs within our department: Clinical Mental Health and Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling. Faculty Specialists carry a teaching load of twenty-four (24) credit hours annually. The Department of Counseling and Human Services is strongly committed to excellence; the Department's graduates are recognized for being ready to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, holistic, person-centered care at all levels and across settings.

Additional Skills Required

Applicants must be licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Minimum Education Requirements

A master's or doctoral degree in Counseling/Counselor Education from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program is required.

Preferred Education Minimum Job Experience Requirements Preferred Qualifications

Ideal applicants will have clinical experience (5 years post master's), a professional counselor identity, higher education teaching experience, and clinical supervision experience. Candidates with expertise in a specific counseling specialty, including addictions or forensic/corrections counseling expertise, are preferred.
