Overview Do you thrive on developing professionals, leading meaningful conversations, and driving systemic change? The Vermont Criminal Justice Council (VCJC) is looking for a dynamic, forward‑thinking individual to join our team. As a Fair & Impartial Policing (FIP) Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening public trust and advancing equitable policing practices across the state. This is a chance to influence not just individual officers, but the culture and systems that define public safety in Vermont.

You will design and train on statewide FIP training programs, analyze race data collection, collaborate with law enforcement agencies across Vermont, support agencies in implementing fair, evidence-based policing practices, and help shape policy and training that impacts communities statewide. Environmental Factors Duties are carried out in a variety of settings but most frequently within a standard office, or classroom. Position duties may require performance outside of normal workdays and hours due to the nature of law enforcement training and culture shift. Flexibility is required and tight deadlines can occur. Strong and differing opinions may arise as to the nature, content, or method of delivery.

Minimum Qualifications Three (3) or more years of experience instructing and implementing organizational change initiatives INCLUDING training or initiatives regarding race, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher.
  • Experience with leading or supporting professional development, large group facilitation, and survey data tracking and/or analysis.

Special Requirements Must be able to pass a background investigation applicable to the position.
