Position SummaryThe Enrichment Instructor provides engaging, age-appropriate instruction to Scholars of H.O.P.E. participants in grades K–6 through specialized enrichment activities. Instructors create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages scholars to develop new skills, explore their interests, build confidence, and engage in hands-on learning.Enrichment instruction is based on program needs and instructor expertise. Enrichment Subject AreasEnrichment Instructors may be engaged to provide instruction in areas including:Dance FitnessStepCreative WritingVisual ArtsTheatreAnimeContent CreationGamingCosmetologyOther specialized enrichment areas, based on program needs and instructor expertise. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential QualitiesOmega Community Development Corporation (CDC) expects all Out of School Time staff to:Demonstrate a commitment to the Omega CDC mission, core values, and the success of scholars.Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children and youth.Demonstrate patience, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with scholars of varying ages, abilities, and learning styles.Demonstrate initiative, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Build positive relationships with scholars, families, staff, school personnel, and community partners.Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and effective communication. Essential FunctionsProvide instruction in an assigned enrichment subject to scholars in grades K–6.Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.Provide hands-on learning experiences that encourage participation, creativity, skill development, and collaboration.Adapt instruction and activities to meet the needs and abilities of participating scholars.Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.Manage classroom or activity-area routines and promote appropriate scholar behavior.Communicate effectively with program staff regarding scholar participation, progress, and program needs.Maintain appropriate care, supervision, and safety of scholars throughout instructional activities.Provide and/or use appropriate instructional materials and resources related to the assigned subject.Perform other duties related to the enrichment program as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Demonstrated knowledge, skill, training, education, or experience in the assigned enrichment subject.Experience working with children or youth, preferably in a school, after-school, community, or youth-development setting.Ability to develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instructional activities.Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.Ability to pass required BCI/FBI background checks. CompensationUp to $45 per hour as a contracted position.The instructor is responsible for providing or covering the cost of instructional materials and resources unless otherwise agreed upon with Omega CDC. Days and HoursTuesday or Thursday from 3:00PM – 5:15PM based on the enrichment subject, program needs, and instructor availability. Specific days and hours will be established at the time of engagement.
