2281950No659869931400.00.008/05/2026Fall 2026 Technical Co-op - Systems Engineer - Platform Team19117BRCasual Intern/Co-Op Ottawa, ON Support the Platform Delivery team of the River Class Destroyer (RCD) program by assessing the completeness of deliverables from the Warship Designer (BAE) in preparation for the Final Design Review (FDR).

The Platform delivery team is a multi-discipline team that includes, Naval Architects, Electrical, Mechanical and Marine Engineers working in cooperating product teams. Your role would be to support the Platform leadership team in managing the contracted deliverables to the Shipbuilder (Irving Shipbuilding Inc. (ISI)) and assess the overall completeness of the design, the technical gaps that still need to be completed and the risks associated with those gaps.

The candidate will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:

  • Developing and owning engineering processes
  • Working with technical risk owners to develop handling plans
  • Coordinating the capture of evidence for Design Review Gates
  • Applying the fundamentals of systems engineering to requirement and change management processes.

  • Current student in an Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Aptitude for working well in teams
  • Ability to work independently
  • Results-oriented self-starter attitude
  • Eligibility for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secret clearance. (i.e., 10 years in Canada or previous NATO Secret Clearance).
  • 8+ Month availability desired
  • IBM Doors experience
  • Active NATO Secret Security Clearance
  • Agile process experience ideally using JIRA
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience with Visio
  • Experience in Agile development
  • Experience developing metrics using various software tools including Tableau, Python and Structured Query Language (SQL).
