Looking for an internship where you can do more than observe?

Join Burnett Specialists, a Houston-based, employee-owned staffing and recruiting company, and get hands-on experience working alongside professionals in HR and recruiting.

Our interns become part of the team. You will gain exposure to recruiting, employee records, candidate screening, HR operations, reporting, and other projects that give you a better understanding of how HR works in the real world.

This is a great opportunity for an HR student who wants practical experience, or a business-minded, outgoing student who enjoys working with people, communicating, building relationships, and learning how recruiting works.
What You'll Do
As an HR & Recruiting Intern, you may:

• Assist with candidate prescreening and recruiting activities
• Communicate with candidates and help support the recruiting process
• Support new hire, employee status, and termination documentation
• Assist with employee records and HR data management
• Help collect and organize information for HR reports and research
• Enter and maintain information in company systems
• Participate in HR and recruiting projects
• Gain exposure to areas such as recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and organizational development

Who We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you are:

• Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Psychology, or a related field
• Interested in HR, recruiting, talent acquisition, sales, or working with people
• Friendly, professional, and comfortable communicating with others
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Curious and eager to learn
• Comfortable working in a professional office environment
• Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do

HR majors are especially encouraged to apply, but your personality and interest in people matter too.
Internship Requirements

• Must have completed freshman year at an accredited college or university
• Must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week
• Schedule can be arranged around classes, exams, activities, and other academic commitments
