We’re looking for a kind, dependable, and engaging family assistant/companion to assist in our 3-person household and support our 37-year-old son, who has special needs and some physical disabilities.
This role is a great fit for someone who is comfortable with light household and organizational tasks and who would enjoy giving companionship-based support to our son.
Schedule
Part time
- Primarily late afternoons/evenings and weekends
- Flexible scheduling Monday–Saturday
- Occasional overnight/weekend support (1–2 times per year)
- Possible week-long support once per year while the parents travel
- Flexibility on specific days/times for the right person
About Our Household
We have a weekly cleaning person, but could use help straightening up, doing occasional light laundry, organizing closets or drawers, and mailing packages, etc.
About Our Son
He’s friendly, engaging, cooperative, and humorous. He enjoys:
- Music and movies
- Watching sports
- Art museums
- Walks and getting out in the community
What We’re Looking For
Responsibilities
- Companionship and community outings
- Transportation to activities
- Preparing simple meals occasionally
- Providing light structure and supervision
- Light family assistant tasks when client support is not needed, such as:
- Answering the door
- Putting away laundry
- General light household support
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Background check required
Responsible, proactive, and communicative
Comfortable with pets, small dog in the household
