Family Assistant- Palos Verdes, California

A busy family in Palos Verdes Peninsula is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and hands-on Family Assistant to provide a combination of household and childcare support. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes pride in maintaining a clean, tidy, and beautifully organized home, preparing family meals, and anticipating needs before they arise.

The family has a wonderful weekday nanny and professional cleaners who come twice per week. They are not seeking a replacement nanny or housekeeper, but someone who can provide hands-on support and flexibility, particularly on weekends and when the family needs extra coverage. 

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with the day-to-day organization and management of the home. 
• Prepare meals and cook for the family.
• Handle family laundry, including washing, folding, ironing, steaming, and putting clothing away.
• Manage the principal’s wardrobe, ensuring suits and dress shirts are pressed, organized, and prepared for travel.
• Make beds and refresh bedrooms.
• Organize closets, drawers, the pantry, refrigerator, and storage areas.
• Ensure household items have a designated place and remain organized.
• Pack luggage and prepare clothing for travel.
• Prepare the home for occasional business meetings and guests.
• Run errands and assist with household projects as requested.
• Care for the family’s fun, energetic 2-year-old when the parents need an extra set of hands.
• Occasionally accompany the family on weekend outings.
• Work collaboratively with the family’s existing nanny and housekeeping team.
• Handle miscellaneous household and personal tasks as they arise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with a private family. 
• Proactive self-starter who can identify what needs to be done and take ownership of tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Warm, energetic, and confident caring for a young child.
• Comfortable working collaboratively alongside other household staff.
• Flexible and willing to assist with changing household needs.

Salary: $45-$50 per hour

Weekend coverage (required):

• Friday: 4:00 PM-8:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM-8:00 PM

Weekday coverage (flexible):

• Two to three additional evenings per week, approximately 4:00 PM-8:00 PM
• Exact days and hours can be adjusted for the right candidate.
