    STRATEGIC FUNCTION
     
    Provides outreach and recruitment support for the Home Visiting Program. Supports families through comprehensive case management services that will support caregivers to foster their child's development and assist caregivers to attain their personal goals. Conducts home visits using Parents as Teachers curriculum. Reports to Home Visiting Program Director.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    May include the following:
    Outreach & Recruitment
    1. Effectively manage workload and priorities while working remotely.
    2. Implement procedures for the recruitment of families in Hays and Caldwell Counties for the Parents as Teachers
    program
    a. Work directly with program leadership and Community Events Specialist to implement agreed upon
    strategies
    b. Coordinate direct recruitment events and opportunities
    3. Implement procedures for recruitment in Coalition efforts to elevate parent voice
    4. Communicate directly with families who have registered for the Parents as Teachers Program
    5. Conduct program intake with families and enter into data management system
    a. Share all relevant information regarding program expectations with families
    b. Share information about family dynamics with leadership and/or assigned Parent Educator.
    6. Assist program leadership to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations established by
    regulators, funding agencies, and Community Action, Inc. as they apply to Home Visiting. Specifically, monitor
    progress on MIECHV Benchmarks, DFPS Outputs & Outcomes, and Parents as Teachers Essential Requirements
    7. Assist in the development of procedures for the Home Visiting Department
    8. Participates in workshops, in-service training and makes use of all personal and professional growth opportunities
    9. Develop and maintain positive, open and productive team partnerships with families, community partners and
    staff while maintaining professional boundaries
    10. Maintains relationships with community partners and outside organizations
    a. Conducts ongoing presentations on behalf of the Parents as Teachers program in both Hays and Caldwell
    counties

    b. Attends and represents Home Visiting Department at meetings at the local level
    11. Flexible with work schedule and location as needed based on program needs
    12. Adhere to the Social Work Code of Ethics
    13. Report all suspected child abuse
    14. Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATIONS
    Preferred: 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work
    • 2 years experience working with families in their homes.
    • Experience providing adult and pre-k children family literacy services.
    Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree related to human services
    • Minimum of 1-year experience working with families
    • Parents as Teacher Model Certified in Foundational 1 & 2 curriculums
    • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish
     
    Physical Requirements:
    • Be able to lift 25-30 lbs
    • Be able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on the floor, see, hear and speak with children to ensure children's health and safety
     
    Other Requirements:
    •    Basic P.C. skills including the ability to type, use Microsoft Office, and e-mail
    •    Data Management and experience
    • At least 21 years old
    • Daily Access to transportation and a valid Texas Driver's License - Class C
    • Vehicle Insurance (personal injury or liability)
    • Criminal Background Check required for all early childhood programs staff at the agency's expense
    • Fingerprinting required for all early childhood programs staff at the employee's expense
