Job Details

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our family law team, representing clients in California divorce matters from initial filing through judgment, including complex property division, spousal support, and high-conflict custody disputes, in a fully remote role.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of divorce and dissolution of marriage matters from initial petition through final judgment
Handle complex community property and asset division, including real estate, retirement accounts, and business interests
Represent clients in spousal support, child support, and high-conflict child custody and visitation disputes
Draft divorce petitions, responses, financial disclosures, pleadings, motions, and marital settlement agreements
Advocate for clients in and out of court, including hearings, trials, and mediations
Negotiate settlements and develop case strategies with clients and senior attorneys to achieve favorable outcomes
Conduct discovery and legal research on California divorce and family law issues
Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates and guide them through the divorce process
Work closely with attorneys and staff to ensure comprehensive case management
Stay current with developments in California family law and maintain the highest professional and ethical standards

Qualifications

Background in California family law with a focus on divorce, including property division, support, and custody matters
JD with active and good standing membership in the California State Bar
Experience drafting financial disclosures, motions, and marital settlement agreements
Strong courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and mediation skills
Excellent client communication skills and the ability to guide clients through emotionally difficult situations
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
