Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Family Law Associate Attorney with a minimum of one year of family law experience to join our Fresno-based team. This position is primarily office-based in Fresno and offers a flexible, family-friendly work environment. The expected billable requirement is4–7 billable hours per day, depending on the needs of both the Firm and the employee, as determined during the interview and hiring process.


The ideal candidate will manage a family law caseload while also representing the Firm at hearings and court proceedings as needed. Court appearances may include Requests for Orders, Case Management Conferences, Mandatory Settlement Conferences, Domestic Violence Restraining Order hearings, status conferences, trials, and other family law proceedings.


Although the position is based in Fresno, the successful candidate must be willing and able to travel throughout Northern and Southern California for in-person court appearances when required. Mileage and other approved travel expenses will be reimbursed. Travel is expected on an as-needed basis.



Responsibilities
  • Attend in-person hearings, trials, and other court proceedings when remote appearances are unavailable or personal attendance is required by the court. 
  • Review case files, pleadings, and attorney instructions prior to appearances.
  • Communicate hearing outcomes promptly to the assigned attorney and legal staff.
  • Prepare brief post-hearing reports and identify any follow-up actions required.
  • Maintain professionalism and compliance with all court rules and procedures.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure seamless case handling.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • One (1) year of California family law experience preferred.
  • Strong courtroom advocacy and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Clio.
