    Job Description

    An established boutique family law firm serving the Wilmington, North Carolina area is seeking a Family Law Attorney to join its growing team. For more than 30 years, the firm has built a strong reputation for providing compassionate, strategic representation to clients navigating some of life's most challenging legal matters.

    The firm exclusively practices family law, representing clients in matters including divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, alimony, domestic violence protective orders, and other family law disputes. Attorneys will have the opportunity to handle meaningful cases while working alongside an experienced, collaborative team. This position is fully remote, with in-person responsibilities limited to court appearances, training, occasional client meetings, and other necessary proceedings in the Wilmington area. Attorneys with family law experience will be given priority, but the team is also open to training the right person who has a strong interest in family law.

    Responsibilities

    • Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and related proceedings.
    • Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
    • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
    • Attend hearings, mediations, negotiations, and trials as needed.
    • Maintain accurate case files and ensure timely case management.

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
    • Active North Carolina Bar admission in good standing is required.
    • Family law experience is preferred but not required.
    • Recent law school graduates with a strong interest in building a career in family law are encouraged to apply.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a close-knit team.
