About the PositionLane County’s Family Mediation Team is looking for a temporary Family Mediator to join us in helping parents navigate conflict and create healthier futures for their children.Family mediation is challenging and deeply meaningful work. Parents turn to us during some of the hardest moments in their lives, and our mediators play a key role in guiding them through a respectful and structured process. In this role, you will help parents reach custody and parenting time agreements, teach parent education classes, and support families with tools to move forward in positive ways.We welcome applicants who meet the required training and certification standards for court-connected mediators and who are eager to grow their careers in family mediation. This role offers an opportunity to apply your skills in conflict resolution, family law, counseling, or related fields, and to learn from a supportive, collegial team committed to professionalism, humor, and care for one another.As a Family Mediator, you will:Provide custody and parenting time mediation that centers children’s needs.Facilitate court-connected parent education classes.Manage case details, maintain client records, and prepare program data reports.Partner with the Court and community services to strengthen family systems in Lane County.This is an essential service to the community—a position that requires both technical skill and compassion.
