    Job Description

    SUMMARY:

    Provides and manages direct outpatient medical care for primary care complaints of
    dermatological conditions. This includes evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of common
    dermatologic and primary care appropriate conditions within the scope of primary care medicine.
    Performs office-based medical procedures and diagnostic testing (e.g., evaluation and
    management, medical management of rashes/acne/dermatitis, skin procedures as clinically
    indicated).

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides and manages direct patient care, including history and physical examinations,
      evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for a specified patient
      population.
    • Evaluates and manages common skin conditions and related concerns within the scope of
      dermatological and primary care, including medical management and patient education.
    • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests and office-based procedures, as
      clinically indicated, to evaluate and guide courses of treatment (e.g., basic laboratory
      testing and office procedures consistent with dermatology and primary care practice).
    • Performs office-based procedures within scope and training, including but not limited to
      skin biopsies and minor dermatologic procedures appropriate for primary care practice and
      dermatology.
    • Prescribes pharmaceuticals and other treatment regimens as appropriate to assess medical
      conditions in accordance with standard clinical guidelines.
    • Coordinates referrals to specialists and other patient care services when clinically
      appropriate.
    • Directs and coordinates patient care activities of medical assistants and support staff as
      required.
    • Follows established policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and
      applicable safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
    • Ensures strict confidentiality of all records and compliance with privacy requirements.
    • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

    • Medical Doctor degree. State of Florida license. Federal DEA Certification.

    NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Ability to observe, assess, and document symptoms, reactions, and clinical progress.
    • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care, including
      documentation, privacy, and patient safety standards.
    • Knowledge of relevant medications and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids; ability to
      prescribe appropriate dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
    • Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for outpatient medical
      evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment within the scope of primary care, including evaluation
      and management of common dermatologic conditions encountered in dermatology and
      primary care settings.
    • Ability to order and interpret diagnostic tests and incorporate results into clinical
      decision-making.
    • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
    • Knowledge of related accreditation, credentialing, and certification requirements as
      applicable to outpatient practice.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Ability to use independent judgment and manage confidential information appropriately.
    • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and support staff training/orientation as
      needed.
    • Strong organizational skills, including prioritization and resource management.

    TRAINING:

    Training will be one on one with a Board-Certified Dermatologist and supporting staff.
