About Us
Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
Responsibilities
- Obtains accurate patient health histories, physical examinations, and triage evaluations.
- Provide primary care services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
- Diagnose and manage common student health concerns such as respiratory illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and mental health concerns
- Provide sexual and reproductive health services, including STI testing and treatment, and contraception counseling (as appropriate)
- Orders, performs and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests, including point-of-care testing
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Georgia law and approved nurse protocol agreements
- Offer patient education on disease prevention, wellness, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Collaborate with supervising physician and healthcare team members to coordinate care
- Participate in campus outreach initiatives, including health fairs, STI awareness campaigns, and wellness programming
- Support public health efforts, including infection control and communicable disease response on campus
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal and state regulations
Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Georgia
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- 1-2 years of clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience in college health, adolescent medicine, or public health
- Experience providing sexual and reproductive healthcare, including STI management
- Familiarity with rapid diagnostic testing platforms
- Interest in health promotion, education, and student engagement initiatives
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare delivery
