Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) | Full Time | Bremerton, WA

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical care within the scope of the organization’s primary care program.
- Review and analyze patient medical histories, diagnostic reports, laboratory results, examinations, and other clinical findings to determine diagnoses and appropriate treatment plans.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Promote preventive health by counseling patients regarding nutrition, healthy behaviors, disease prevention, and overall wellness.
- Perform procedures within the scope of the primary care program and the physician’s demonstrated competencies and clinical privileges.
- Refer patients to appropriate medical specialists and consultants when necessary.
- Collaborate with other providers, clinical staff, and members of the care team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Participate in community outreach efforts as requested.
- Share in after-hours coverage and call responsibilities as appropriate.
- Mentor and support Advanced Practice Clinicians as needed.
- Family Medicine Physicians may provide supervision and review services provided by Physician Assistants in accordance with applicable Washington State requirements and organizational practice protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the electronic health record system.
- Monitor and, when applicable, provide clinical oversight to relevant providers and care staff to support the delivery of high-quality care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Active or eligible for an unrestricted physician license in the State of Washington.
- Active DEA registration.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to meet applicable medication-assisted treatment requirements within 120 days of hire.
Preferred
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or another applicable primary care specialty.
- Experience working in a community health center, FQHC, nonprofit healthcare organization, or other safety-net healthcare setting.
- Experience utilizing an electronic health record system such as Athenahealth.
- Experience caring for medically underserved and diverse patient populations.
