Now Hiring: Family Support Specialist - Weekends

Location: Westland, Michigan
Schedule: Weekends Only ~ Fridays and Saturdays 11p - 7:30a
Pay: $19.00 per hour

In this role, you’ll provide direct support to families navigating challenging life situations. From assisting with daily living needs to de-escalating difficult moments, you’ll be a steady, compassionate presence for individuals working toward stability and independence.

What You’ll Do

Direct Care & Resident Support

  • Assist families with daily living activities based on individual service plans
  • Support residents with hygiene, meals, and maintaining a safe, clean-living space
  • Prepare rooms for new residents and help maintain a welcoming environment

Monitoring & Safety

  • Observe and document resident behavior and daily activity
  • Respond to and help de-escalate challenging situations
  • Report incidents and concerns to leadership in a timely manner

Medication & Documentation

  • Assist with medication administration in accordance with policies
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, activities, and observations

Intake & Resource Support

  • Assist with intake processes, including phone and walk-in inquiries
  • Connect individuals to community resources and support services

Housekeeping & Facility Support

  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms and shared spaces
  • Support kitchen operations, including meal prep and cleanup

Team Support

  • Serve as a mentor to new staff and assist with onboarding and training
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality care and program success

What You Bring

  • Training or coursework in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in direct care, residential services, or community-based programs preferred
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment with professionalism and compassion
  • Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to treating all individuals with dignity and respect

Additional Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain Food Handler’s Basic Certification
  • Ability to work assigned afternoon/evening shifts and weekend schedule
