Knowledge of basic arithmetic. Skill in basic counseling techniques. Ability to assist clients in accessing community resource services. Ability to understand and apply the methods and practices used in medical, nursing, nutrition, child development or childcare setting. Ability to interview clients to identify needs. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to execute effectively time management. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities. Ability to establish and maintain working relationship with others.
Licensure/registration/certification requirements:
Incumbents in this job class are required to use a personal vehicle to conduct field investigations, field visitations, or transportation of clients, and must maintain a valid driver's license, vehicle registration and appropriate automobile insurance unless an approved exception has been granted utilizing a Family Support Worker Exception Form, CF 741. Incumbents will receive a Vehicle Insurance Allowance if required to use a person vehicle. BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Department of Children and Families that applicants for employment/volunteer undergo Level 2 background screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
