Position Title: Farm Technician I, II and III

Reports To: Assistant Farm Manager and/or Director of Land and Crop Management
SUMMARY
At the direction of the Assistant Farm Manager and/or Director of Land and Crop Management, the Farm Technician is responsible for assisting with the planting, spraying, and harvesting of agricultural crops. Duties vary by position level (Farm Tech I, II or III), but can consist of tillage work, planting crops, spraying crops, harvesting crops, rock crushing, driving grain and potato trucks, irrigation (center pivot and solid set), trimming trees, repairing, and maintaining agricultural equipment, construction and demolition activities, excavation work, and all other types of agricultural-related work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Equipment Operation
- Driving trucks from field to potato storage, grain storage, and beside potato harvester
- Forklift operation including moving pallets of seed and chemicals.
- Tractors, combines, potato planting, hilling, and harvesting equipment, sprayers, batwing mower, corn, and soybean planters, etc.
- Welding/Fabrication
- MIG, TIG, and Stick - fabricate to fix equipment.
- Maintenance Upkeep
- Equipment
- Washing and servicing (oil Changes, clean, check fluids, grease)
- Mechanical repairs: fix equipment as needed.
- Building
- Cleaning the shop and other facilities
- Repairs on the facilities as needed.
- Irrigation tasks - set up and operate center pivot irrigation systems.
- Handling chemicals - mix for spraying.
- Utilize Google sheets for farm record keeping.
- Utilize GPS/Auto Guidance for precision farming operations.
- Periodically assist other departments of the company.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification Card in addition to a valid PA Driver's license, during your employment. Please coordinate your initial examination within 28 days of employment. The examination will be at no charge to you if done with Kline Chiropractic.
