Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented
Fashion Designer with strong creative and technical capabilities to develop original apparel concepts and independently lead fittings and technical development. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong sketching abilities, and hands-on experience developing
tech packs. Experience designing across
fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear is highly preferred.
The designer will interpret fashion trends and translate them into concepts encompassing
style, color, and fabric, while partnering with sourcing and materials development teams to bring designs from concept through development.
Key Responsibilities:- Create original fashion concepts based on current and emerging fashion trends, incorporating style, color, fabric, and overall design direction.
- Produce detailed fashion sketches and seasonal design presentations to communicate concepts and collections.
- Independently lead fittings, provide fit feedback, and develop accurate technical documentation and tech packs.
- Partner with Sourcing and Materials Development teams to select and develop appropriate fabrics, materials, and construction details.
- Provide basic fit and body block information and participate in fit sessions to refine garment construction and fit.
- Research and analyze fashion trends to support seasonal product development and design direction.
Must-Have Skills:- Strong fashion design and concept development experience with the ability to interpret trends into commercial apparel designs.
- Excellent sketching and fashion illustration skills.
- Hands-on experience independently developing tech packs and technical design documentation.
- Experience leading or participating in garment fittings and fit sessions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with Design, Sourcing, Materials Development, and related teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills:- Design experience in fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear.
- Experience with fabric, material, color, and trim development.
- Experience presenting seasonal design concepts to Design Directors or cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Related professional fashion/apparel design experience.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, body blocks, and apparel development.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Design Directors and cross-functional partners.
